& WELL-BEING AWARENESS WEEK

St Clare's Positive Mental Health & Well-being Committee have decided to apply  for the Amber Flag Initiative organised by Pieta House. 
The committee are currently working hard on Mental Health Awareness week
and we are really looking forward to this event

 Positive Mental Health & Well-being
Positive Mental Health & Well-being is at the heart of life in St. Clare's.  The school management and staff strive to support every child in their growth and development in these areas.

This is achieved in many different ways through your child's time in St Clare's.  Below are some examples & photos

Children have the opportunity to have their voice heard by being part of the many different committees we have
  1. Active School Committee
  2. Green Schools Committee
  3. Positive Mental Health & Well-being Committee
  4. Healthy Schools Committee
  5. Student Council
Within the classes the following programmes are implemented
  1. Weaving Well-being
  2. Fun Friends
  3. Friends for life
  4. Stay safe
  5. A Lust For Life
  6. .BE
  7. Abbi Programme
  8. Brain Calm
The children are also given lots of opportunities to Be Active each week - We are all aware how important activity is to Mental Health
  1. Lunchtime Activities
  2. After school activities
  3. Initiatives such as "Daily Mile", "10 at 10"
  4. Gymnastics
  5. Cycling
  6. Athletics
  7. GAA
  8. Soccer
  9. Dance
They are also given opportunities to build their self esteem and confidence by taking part in the following activities
  1. ​School Musical
  2. Class Plays
  3. Assemblies
  4. Shared Reading
  5. Prefecting
  6. Variety show
  7. Peace proms
They are also given the opportunity to give something back to the community and wider world.  This giving is a really important part of positive Mental Health & Well-being
  1. ​Raising money for St Vincent de Paul by Carol Singing
  2. Visiting local Old Folks Homes and singing & playing music for the residents
  3. Shoe box appeal at Christmas
