Our website aims to keep pupils and parents fully informed of school life,
as well as to give visitors and prospective parents and pupils a flavour of our school.

St. Clare’s Variety Show
The inaugural St. Clare’s Variety Show took place on Wednesday 9th May 2018.
The Variety Show was an opportunity to showcase some of the amazingly talented students in our school.
The seed of this show started when Ms Leonard, our principal, said she wanted to give our students the opportunity to share their talents, achievements and dedication with as wide an audience as possible.
Over the course of two months, teachers were drafted in to help, auditions were held and practices were arranged. The Variety Show started to take shape.
During the practices we saw tears and tantrums, missteps and mistakes, cartwheels avoided and catastrophes averted, but eventually the show was ready.
On Tuesday we had a full dress rehearsal for the school. Thankfully, it all went extremely well and everyone’s nerves were set at ease.
The night of the show, we were all nervous and full of energy, but we knew we had the hard work already done, so we could enjoy the night.
Performing on stage, we had:
- Two hosts with the most
- One tremendous Trad group
- Four dazzling dance groups -funky Freestyle, high powered Hip Hop, cool Contemporary and a top notch Thriller dance.
- One incredibly unique ukulele performance
- Five perfectly polished piano recitals
- One graceful gymnastics routine
- Two really keen keyboard players
- Two praiseworthy performances by our school choir
- One beautiful ballet routine
- Four superb singers
- One terrific tin whistle group
- Two amazing accordion groups
- One 5th class version of “Cups Song” that had to be seen to be believed.
The show was super fun. We all had a fantastic time performing with our friends on stage.
Here in St. Clare’s we encourage everyone to take pride in their talents and to make the most of the opportunities available to them while in this school. We allow each child the chance to improve and increase their abilities in all aspects of their education, particularly in the Creative Arts.
This variety show was a just a small sample of the super talented students that we are very proud to have in our school. We encourage each child to keep practicing their talents and maybe they’ll be in next year’s show!
Thanks must go to Ms Leonard, our principal, who came up with this idea and who greatly encouraged all the acts who performed.
Thanks also to all the huge number of teachers who gave up their own time to cajole, tweak and polish the acts that performed in our show.
Finally, thanks must go to the students who took part in our Variety Show. Your dedication to your art, faith in your abilities, and the bravery you’ve shown to help create such a special show, is to be commended. Well done to all!

They performed an axciting programme of songs, alongside over 2000 other schoolchildren from all over Ireland,
