Dia Dhaoibh!
It has been super busy in our dynamic school community over the last two months. Our new school building is really coming on. The next time you are up at the top gate take a look to your left and spot our new classrooms taking shape. We have all settled into prefab life. It is hard to believe that our junior infants will be no longer the babies of our school, making way for our new entrants in September. Our first class boys and 6th class girls will be graduating and moving onto their new schools, to say we will miss them is an understatement but we do intend on giving them a MASSIVE send off. On March 26th the sun shone on our beautiful 6th class girls as they were confirmed with the gifts of the Holy Spirit. They did us so proud during the ceremony and thank you to the parents for helping the teachers in preparation for the big day. The weather was not as favorable for our 2nd class girls as they made their communion on Saturday the 30th of April however they were beautiful. Again thank you to their parents for everything. The communicants celebrated with a breakfast in school on the Monday morning. They enjoyed pancakes, toast, cereal, juice and a lovely cup of tea! This week we had Dale the “Dinoman” in our school giving the pupils really interesting presentations about dinosaurs. Dale is from Australia and you can follow him on Facebook @ dinos down under. Senior infant afterschool club is still in full swing and homework club is starting this week Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2.30-3.20 for 3rd to 6th class. School tour season has kicked off!!! If you are not on Facebook you probably won’t have seen the antics that our 6th classes and their teachers got up to in Tanagh outdoor adventure center in Cootehill. We are not sure who the bigger children were our students or Ms. Goldrick, Ms. Maguire, Ms. Brady and Mr. Walsh. They were kayaking, swimming, jumping of jetty’s, slip n’ sliding, orienteering, playing games, hiking and best of all sleeping over with all their friends. There is more fun and excitement to follow for all classes in the school: Junior Infants Best O Mates indoor play center, Kells, Co. Meath Senior Infants Killinkere Pet Farm Co. Cavan First Class Dublin Zoo and Erica’s fairy forest 2nd Class Ulster American Folk Park Omagh 3rd Class GR8 in Castleblaney Co. Monaghan 4th Class Cavan Crystal Maze and UCD campus 5th Class Lough Key Forest Park & Arigna Mines 6th Class Kilmainham Jail and Glasnevin Cemetery Ms. Meehan’s Class Busy Bee Ceramics and Rossmore Park Co. Monaghan Finally our Fiona Corby was rubbing shoulders with Hector from The Telly!! Life in St. Clare’s is proving to be a very BUSY one. Watch this space for more fun Slán go foill |
